Sunday, May 6, 2pm – 4:30pm
Join us this Sunday as we discuss what is important to our LGBTQ+ community in the upcoming elections presented by Equality Michigan’s Stephanie White.
Stephanie White is the Executive Director for Equality Michigan and Equality Michigan Action Network, the statewide LGBT rights organizations. She leads the organization’s efforts to make Michigan more safe and fair for the 350,000 Michiganders who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender. They accomplish this by providing direct support to those who experience discrimination and violence, by increasing the education and cultural competency of public and private institutions, and by ending discrimination under the law based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
For over 25 years she has been leading collective action in various roles from US Army Commander to Political Director for the Michigan Democratic Party and the Schauer for Governor Campaign. White first moved to Michigan in 2002 when she served as the Campaign Manager for the Ypsilanti Campaign for Equality and subsequently worked for the Michigan Environmental Council. She then spent six years in Washington DC working on federal policy issues, including serving as the Managing Director for the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE).
Steph lives in Ann Arbor, MI with her son and she can be heard on 910am Superstation discussing LGBT issues as co-host of the weekly radio show, The Agenda.
